IMPORTANT CHANGES EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2009
I am very pleased to announce that my son, Jonathan Mallin, has decided to re-enter the QDRO preparation business. Jonathan is a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A. 1997) and NYU’s school of law (J.D. 2000). He is admitted to practice law in New York and Michigan. As you may know, Jonathan previously worked for my firm, Pension Division by QDRO LLC. Jonathan has recently decided to open his own law firm dedicated exclusively to the preparation of QDROs and similar domestic relation orders. The new law firm is named “QDRO Professionals PLLC” and its website is www.qdroprofs.com. With the formation of Jonathan’s law firm, effective November 10, 2008, I will now be assisting Jonathan at QDRO Professionals PLLC as a “Consulting Actuary.” Jonathan’s firm will use an improved version of the sophisticated order preparation system I developed and refined over the eight years that I operated Pension Division by QDRO, LLC. Jonathan is committed to providing the highest level of professional service and intends to provide value-added service to every client. Unlike some other order preparers who are not lawyers or not organized as a law firm, Jonathan will be able to service “in pro per” and “pro se” clients directly, although his preference is for divorcing parties to continue to retain their divorce counsel. Since November 10, 2008, my firm (Pension Division by QDRO, LLC) has declined all new assignments for the preparation of QDROs and similar domestic relation orders. I encourage you to send any such new assignments to QDRO Professionals PLLC. All orders prepared by QDRO Professionals PLLC will be prepared by Jonathan and carefully reviewed by me providing the benefits of my extensive experience and Jonathan’s legal training, high energy and desire to provide the highest level of professional service. Although Pension Division by QDRO, LLC no longer accepts new assignments for division orders, it will continue to operate for the sole purpose of preparing any initial division orders previously requested and paid for prior to November 10, 2008 but not yet prepared. Jonathan and I can both be reached at 248-324-0099. Jonathan’s e-mail address is jm@qdroprofs.com and my new e-mail address is mm@qdroprofs.com. I look forward to continuing to apply my extensive experience to your retirement plan divisions and Jonathan looks forward to providing the highest quality division orders and level of professional service.
